Is God actually in control? It’s a question most of us don’t ask when things are going great. We ask it when the wheels fall off. We ask it when we look at the chaos in our world, in our communities, or in our own living rooms through a painful medical diagnosis, a broken relationship, or a crushing financial bill. When life spins out of control, we naturally start to wonder: Has God lost control, too?
In this kickoff message of our new 4-week series, "God Is...", we dive into the majestic words of Isaiah 40. Written to a people who were exhausted, hurting, and feeling completely forgotten in Babylonian captivity, this passage doesn’t just offer empty platitudes. Instead, God sends a message to remind them—and us—exactly WHO He is.
When you truly understand the unchanging, incomparable attributes of God, your soul can finally find an anchor. Discover how the Sovereign Creator of the cosmos is simultaneously the Gentle Shepherd who wants to carry your burdens and renew your strength today.
In this message, we unpack 5 powerful truths about God:
Point 1: God’s Word is Unchanging (vv. 1, 6–8)
Point 2: God’s Knowledge and Power are Incomparable (vv. 10, 12–14)
Point 3: God is the Creator and Sustainer (vv. 21–26)
Point 4: God is the Ultimate Authority But is Intimately Personal (vv. 27–30)
Point 5: God’s Strength is Available to You (v. 31)
👉 NEXT STEPS / ACTION COMPONENT: Don't just watch—put this message into practice this week by taking a "Control Inventory." What one thing do you need to surrender to God today?
Surrender an External Situation: Hand over that diagnosis, financial stress, or broken relationship to the Creator who holds the oceans in His hand.
Surrender an Internal Weight: Give your anxiety and exhaustion to the Shepherd and ask Him to renew your strength according to the promise of Isaiah 40:31.
💬 WHATS YOUR TAKE? What area of your life feels the most out of control right now? How does remembering God’s character help you release it? Let us know in the comments below so we can pray with you!

When everything around you is shaking, how do you stand firm? We live in a world that seems increasingly volatile, fragile, and chaotic. It’s easy to feel like our peace and happiness are at the mercy of our circumstances. If the week goes well, we are up; if it goes poorly, we crash. But as followers of Christ, God has called us to something better. He has called us to be UNSHAKABLE.

Pastor Adam explores "The Jesus Project," challenging us to move beyond treating faith as a temporary experiment and instead embrace it as a lifelong calling. By looking at Peter’s journey from failure to restoration, we see that the Risen Savior offers total transformation rather than a simple, quick fix for life's problems. This Easter, don't just "try" Jesus—choose to follow Him with your whole heart.
